Moore
Airport Receives Grant Coble Says
(WASHINGTON, D.C.)----Speaking in Pinehurst today,
U.S. Rep. Howard Coble (R-NC) announced that the Moore County Airport
will receive a federal grant to complete some necessary repairs.
Congressman Coble, who represents Moore County in the U.S. House,
said he had just received notification that the county's airport
will receive a $200,000 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA).
Rep. Coble said the FAA discretionary grant will
be used to repair the airport's apron area. "I am pleased that
we are able to announce this worthwhile funding program today while
we are in Moore County," Rep. Coble stated. "We have been
working with airport officials for some time to bring needed service
to the airport and this grant will allow us to continue working
towards that goal."
Michael Nash of the Moore County Airport Authority
said that work on the apron repairs will begin in a couple of months
and should take about one month to complete once started. Mr. Nash
said the $200,000 would be used to repair cracks and tears in the
apron.
Congressman
Coble made the FAA grant announcement today while speaking to a
group at the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst. Rep. Coble
made several other stops in Moore County today, including an appearance
on WEEB-AM's morning program.
